We believe that it is our collective responsibility to preserve our planet through conservation of our natural resources.


Solar Innovation

In 2016 we took a bold step into solar thermal systems. A 148 kilowatt (kW) solar project was installed at CityVue Apartments in Eagan. (See the installation time-lapse video below.) The addition to the parking ramp roof was the largest investment in renewable energy at any multi-family housing site in Minnesota. We’ve installed more than half a megawatt (526kW) on the roofs of garages and buildings at the price of over $1.6 million. It could collectively power roughly 140 apartments.

Being Smoke-Free

One At Home green living initiative that truly sets us apart from other rental communities is smoke-free apartments. We offer smoke-free living at most of our properties with the desire to make your living experience more enjoyable. We cannot guarantee the availability of apartments in our smoke-free buildings; and at this time not all buildings are smoke-free. We ask you to inquire with leasing agents at the community you are interested in.

And because we own our buildings, when replacing building materials we look for environmentally friendly and energy efficient upgrades like thermal paned windows and insulated white membrane roofs for maximum seasonal efficiency.
