HOW TO APPLY

HOW DO I RENT AN APARTMENT OR TOWNHOME?

The usual procedure would be to make an appointment (at least 24 hours in advance) for a tour at the property of your choosing. Tour the available apartment or townhome, then apply online. Please allow at least 24 hours for application processing. We will contact you regarding signing your lease. We offer in-person and virtual signing options. Your security deposit and administrative fee will be due at the time of lease signing. We’ll contact you to schedule a key pick-up time, and the first month’s rent will be due when you receive your keys. You can view a full list of our communities here.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO LEASE AN APARTMENT?

At Home Apartments does not discriminate against residents or prospective residents based on race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, or age. At Home Apartments does, however, require favorable credit, an unblemished criminal and previous housing background check, and a monthly income three times the monthly rent. For more information, please contact a community directly so that a leasing agent can answer any additional questions, as rental requirements vary by city.

CAN I APPLY FOR MY APARTMENT ONLINE?

Yes, you may apply online on our website for your apartment. Simply shop online, choose your apartment, and click on the Apply Now button. Check Availability

HOW MUCH IS AT HOME’S APPLICATION FEE?

At Home requires a $55 application fee. This non-refundable fee covers the necessary background and credit checks. In addition, there is a $200 administrative fee due at lease signing.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A TOUR WITH AT HOME?

Please contact the community you are interested in either by phone or email so that our team can work with you to find the best time to fit your schedule. (Note that select communities offer online tour scheduling. Look for a “Schedule a Tour” button on the community page.) We offer a variety of touring options that can be customized to meet your needs with virtual, self-guided*, or in-person, by-appointment tours available. CAN I SCHEDULE A VIRTUAL TOUR?

Yes. Our leasing agents can provide you with a private virtual tour, enabling you to find your new home from the comfort of your couch. Contact the leasing office of the property you are interested in to schedule your virtual tour. Many of our communities offer 3D Matterport Tours on their community page. Look for the “Virtual Tour” button on the community page. You can view a full list of our communities here.

DOES AT HOME ALLOW WALK-IN APPOINTMENTS?

Yes, but we do recommend that you schedule a tour with our staff to ensure that a leasing agent is available to meet with you and that we can give advance notice to current residents in occupied apartments.

CAN I TAKE A SELF-GUIDED TOUR?

Yes, select communities are offering self-guided tours of vacant and model apartments. Please contact the community you are interested in to learn more. You can view a full list of our communities here.

DEPOSITS & LEASING

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST TO RENT AN APARTMENT?

Pricing varies by property and unit type. Click here to view pricing. To help you find an apartment that fits your budget, we provide upfront price range information for all properties. Once you’ve identified an apartment you’re interested in, the leasing agent will be happy to provide more specific pricing.

HOW MUCH ARE THE COMMUNITY SECURITY DEPOSITS?

The security deposit is $400 for all our communities. Unlike the application fee, the security deposit is fully refundable and will be returned to you the month after you move out less any costs associated with damages, cleaning, or unpaid rent.

WHAT ARE AT HOME APARTMENTS’ LEASE TERMS?

At Home Apartments asks for a 12-month lease commitment from prospective residents in most circumstances. Shorter leases can be discussed but are not guaranteed. Please speak with a leasing agent at the community you are interested in.

WHAT IF I HAVE TO MOVE OUT BEFORE MY LEASE IS UP?

At Home offers a lease-buyout option if the situation does arise. All terms and conditions should be discussed with your property manager.

HOW MUCH NOTICE IS REQUIRED TO END MY LEASE?

At Home requires a written 60-day notice to vacate (two full rental periods). Example: Your lease ends on 10/31 and you wish to vacate that day. At Home needs to receive your written request to vacate by 08/31.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY LEASE AFTER THE INITIAL TERM IS UP?

Once you have completed your 12-month lease, you may renew your lease for another 12 months or convert to a month-to-month contract (additional fees may apply). Even with a month-to-month lease, however, we still do require a written 60-day notice to vacate.

DOES AT HOME ALLOW SUB-LEASING?

We do not allow sub-leasing or Airbnb rentals at any of our communities.

CAN I PAY MY RENT ONLINE?

Absolutely! We want to make it as convenient as possible for you when you pay your rent. We have an app that you can use to pay online or directly from your phone at the click of a button. Paying online is our preferred method, as we charge a processing fee for checks. Click here to access the resident portal.

PET POLICY

WHAT IS AT HOME’S PET POLICY?

The At Home Apartments pet policy varies by property and all terms and conditions should be discussed with a leasing agent. Each community webpage will list “Pet-Friendly” as an amenity if they welcome furry friends.

AFTER-HOURS MAINTENANCE

WHAT IF I HAVE AN AFTER-HOURS MAINTENANCE REQUEST?

We offer 24-hour emergency maintenance, so when issues do arise, we’ve got you covered! For the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, call (763) 572-4369. For St. Cloud, call (320) 202-5035.

HOW DO I SUBMIT A MAINTENANCE REQUEST?

You can easily submit a maintenance request through the Residential Portal. Once you are logged in under the “Maintenance” tab, there will be a button to submit a request.

REFERRALS

DOES AT HOME REWARD RESIDENT REFERRALS?

Yes! We offer a $250 rent credit for any resident referrals. The applicant must be approved by management, sign a 12-month lease, and indicate your name at the lease signing as to how they found the apartment.

INSURANCE

DOES AT HOME REQUIRE RENTER’S INSURANCE?

No, we do not require renter’s insurance; however, we strongly recommend obtaining it. Our insurance policy only covers the buildings themselves, and not your personal belongings. Most car insurance providers offer you the option of renter’s insurance, which can sometimes be cheaper when combining it with your vehicle insurance.

FURNISHED APARTMENTS

DOES AT HOME HAVE FURNISHED APARTMENTS?

No, we currently do not offer furnished living at any of our communities.
